Clavichords have an interesting sound which is very distinguishable. Most musicians are quick to call out and identify a clavichord in a piece of music after hearing the first few clavichord notes played. Clavichords almost sound like a raspy Piano with a bit of a TWANGGGGG or TWIIIING as if the Piano itself was broken.
